The history of dragons is one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the Chinese cultural heritage. In the past, we assumed dragons to be representations of Chinese emperors through the dynasties, yet we knew very little of the origins of the mythological beast.
“The First Dragon of China” presents the most recent findings from collaborations between the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The exhibition introduces our investigations into early dragons in Neolithic China, the involvement of dragons in politics along with the rise of nation states, and the appearance of dragon symbolism in Hong Kong more than 3,000 years ago. 本文来自华艺美术世界网
